Living on Magnetic Island
Planning a sea change with your new home nestled on the Great Barrier Reef?
Magnetic Island has a strong sense of community and a very low crime rate. You might call it a safe haven for kids.
With over 2200 permanent residents on the island, the great tropical climate encourages children to enjoy a vast range of outdoor activities such as fishing, swimming, snorkelling, skateboarding, bushwalking, and generally enjoying the abundant wildlife that surrounds them.
Junior science and junior theatre groups work closely to keep kids occupied. Island artists also work on projects with children outside school hours, plus there's always the opportunity to take dance aor karate class, join the film society, get a hand in at the kids fishing, golfing and bowling days, or get up on stage at the Magnetic Island Musicians Club evenings.
