Magnetic Island RSL Sub Branch is gearing up for a Remembrance Day service of a magnitude never before seen on the island on Tuesday 11 November.
As a precursor to the 100th anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli to be held next year, this Remembrance Day service at 10.30am in Alma Bay will have a Military Guard and Catafalque Party of 70 Australian Defense Force personnel.
10.25am: Meet at the Alma Bay Cenotaph (Alma Bay Park)
10:30am: Ceremony commences and opening address.
11.00am: One minute silence.
Following the service at 11am the Military Guard and Catafalque Party will march back to the Magnetic Island Memorial Hall. Invited guests and visitors are also welcome to return to the Memorial Hall for light snacks.
The attendance of the Military Guard and Catafalque Party is being made possible through the generosity of Fantasea Cruising Magnetic, who are providing transport to and from the island for the military personnel and their vehicles.
The Magnetic Island RSL Sub Branch wishes to thank the ADF and Fantasea Cruising Magnetic for their support on this very special day.
