
With lots of popular carols for everyone to join in singing, the 2015 Magnetic Island Carols By Candelight will be held on Thursday 10 December from 7.00pm at Alma Bay and led by Graeme MacCourt and a group of singers from the Magnetic Island Churches while the children from the Magnetic Island State School will present a Nativity Pageant during the evening. The Townsville Brolga Brass Band will accompany the singing. The programme will conclude at approximately 8pm. Entry to the Carols by Candlelight is free. Donations received on the evening will be sent to help the those devastated by the earth quake in Nepal earlier this year via the Nepali Family Project to help the poverty stricken families rebuild their lives.
What to bring: • Some seating will be available, but bring a rug if you'd prefer to sit on the grass.• A torch to help read the words. • C & K Magnetic Island Early Childhood Centre sausage sizzle from 5.00pm until 6.45pm at Alma Bay. ‘Flame-free’ candles will also be available. • Alcohol and smoking free.• The Alma Park games area will not be available for the hour of the Carols.
The carols are proudly presented by the Combined Christian Churches of Magnetic Island and supported by First National Magnetic Island, Magnetic Island Transport, Sealink and Townsville City Council.
