With lots of popular carols for everyone to join in singing, the 2016 Magnetic Island Carols By Candelight will be held on Thursday 8 December from 7pm - 8pm at Alma Bay.
Come all and sing Christmas carols under the stars at Alma Bay.
Everyone is invited to join in the singing of traditional and Australian carols led by Graeme McCourt and the Carols Singers. The singing will be accompanied by the Townsville Brass Band. The Year 2 class from the Magnetic Island State School will mime the story of Christmas while it is narrated and there will be an appeal for donations to support Medicins Sans Frontieres and the work that they do. The evening will close at approximately 8 pm.
Prior to the Carols the C&K Early Childhood Centre (Kindy) will hold a sausage sizzle at Alma Bay to raise funds. This will commence at 6pm and finish at 6.45pm - just before the carols begin. There will be some seating for Seniors and a special place for parents to spread out a rug to sit with their children and enjoy a family evening.
What to bring:
• Some seating will be available, but bring a rug if you'd prefer to sit on the grass.
• A torch to help read the words.
• C & K Magnetic Island Early Childhood Centre sausage sizzle from 5.00pm until 6.45pm at Alma Bay. ‘Flame-free’ candles will also be available.
• Alcohol and smoking free.
• The Alma Park games area will not be available for the hour of the Carols.
• Some seating will be available, but bring a rug if you'd prefer to sit on the grass.
