Opening Night: New MI Arts Gallery in Arcadia!

Just in time for last minute holiday shopping and rainy-day browsing, a new art gallery has opened in the Arcadia shops on Bright avenue. A dozen artists from the community group Magnetic Island Artists (MIA), have formed a co-operative and the result is the MIArtspace. There is a wide variety of artwork for sale, ranging from traditional oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings to hand-painted silk fabric pieces, photographic art, jewellery, linocut prints, ceramics, designer dresses and soft furnishings and other fine, handmade crafts. The gallery will be open seven days a week (except Christmas day) from 10am to 3pm.The public is invited to help celebrate the gallery’s official opening this Thursday evening, December 23, from 5 to 7pm.
