Sweetlips are a team of locals on Magnetic Island who are swimming for the Reef - to raise money for the Environmental Defenders Office Qld who are an independent community legal centre, empowering the community to use the law to protect the environment. Each team member has set their fitness goal with most swimming between 10 - 20kms over the next four weeks.
Sweetlips would like to invite the Island community and general public to join in our team fundraiser which is guaranteed to be a whole lot of wet and wild fun and help us swim a combined 100kms at Alma Bay on Sunday the 10th of February from 9am to 12pm.
You can get involved by counting laps, take part in the team relay ($10 donation) to reach our combine team goal of 10kms and bring your friends and family along to join us for a BYO share picnic lunch Island style.
Due to weather and sea condition a change of venue to the Magnetic Island Swimming Pool may occur.
