Maggie will be bursting at the seams with things to do, so come and enjoy Australia Day 2020 right here on Magnetic Island! Travel the island by bus or car to test your skills in all the competitions, or find a favourite and settle into a fun Aus Day, PLUS discounted ferry tickets are available!

1. Australia Day at Alma Bay - Sunday 26th January
The Arcadian Surf Life Saving Club is once again hosting our annual Awesome Arcadian Australia Day at Alma Bay, Magnetic Island on Sunday 26th January from 9am to 4pm, along with event partners Sealink Queensland and Triple M Townsville.

This is a great family fun day out with events including the Great Australia Day float in the Bay, Aussie Games such as Tug of War and Fastest Man on the Sand, a big Treasure Hunt with fantastic prizes, an inflatable thong race and of course our World Famous Toad Races.

There will be a Brekkie BBQ in the morning and a Burgers and Bangers BBQ for lunch, as well as cold drinks available all day.

Thanks to our partner, Sealink Queensland, there will also be discounted Ferry tickets for the day, with Family tickets just $69, Adults tickets for $28 and Students offered Two for $30.

Come on over to Alma Bay on Maggie for Australia Day, it's going to be AWESOME!

2. Base Backpackers (Nelly Bay) - The Island Bar
- Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th January (with Bushfire Karma Keg Appeal)
It's two days of celebrating Australia Day 2020 at Base. Start with Triple J's Hottest 100 from 12noon, then hit the dance floor from 8.30pm with the Silent Disco (3 channels - 3 different DJs at the same time). Then on the big day, from 12 noon there will be The Easy Club DJs all day long, a Thong Throwing Competition, a Snag Eating Competition and a Beachside Party. Don't forget the VB on a Karma Keg where 100% profit of that keg will be donated to the bushfire appeal.

3. Picnic Bay Hotel
With live music, games, contests, good ol' Aussie Trivia, freebies, prizes, giveaways, the 'Best Dressed Shazza & Dazza Award' plus lots of fun, celebrate Australia Day at Picnic Bay!

4. Marlin Bar
The Marlin Bar will be celebrating Australia Day with live and acoustic music by Benson on Sunday 2-6pm on Sunday 26th January.

5. Peppers Blue On Blue
- Sunday 26th January
Peppers Blue on Blue Resort presents a fun family-friendly day on the Nelly Bay Marina this Australia Day. Kids can enjoy activities with Jo, our Kids Club Ambassador from 12pm. A special Boardwalk Restaurant lunch menu features an Aussie rib fillet burger, chicken and bacon burger,  beer-battered fish & chips and lamington icecream sandwiches.
Live music will be performed from 2pm by The Tiny Giant’s local band members Ben and Patrick Make this Australia Day a fun day for all the family and a celebration of Aussie culture.

6. Arcadia Village Hotel
Arcadia Village Hotel have a great line up of live music all weekend! Free entry.

Friday 24 Jan: Fiona Moran starts 8pm
Saturday 25 Jan: Tim Griffin with Harmoica Duet starts 8pm
Sunday 26 Jan: Greg Simpson LIVE (singing Aussie classics) starts 4pm

Dining options include the hotel bistro, the Bikini Tree Cafe (all weekend) and Thai or Indonesian from the courtyard kiosk on Saturday night.
