An invitation to learn the art of playing the Djembe drum at Albert's
West African Djembe Drumming Classes.
During these classes participants will learn:
3 basic Djembe strikes which produce their own distinct sound (bass, tone and slap)
Right hand and left hand coordination exercises
Call and response hands-on practice (facilitator to participants)
West African traditional Djembe rhythms.
The Djembe drum is a versatile, convenient and easy to learn percussion instrument that you can play on your own, with friends or in a group or band.
Dates: Saturdays
Time: 1pm to 2.30pm
At: The Active Centre 2/60 Kelly St, Nelly Bay (in air conditioned comfort)
Cost: $20 tuition, plus $5 for drum hire if you dont have your own.
Open to ages: 15+
