Magnetic Island supports more than 25% of our region’s tourism jobs and injects more than $300M into our regional economy locally.
It is the jewel in the region’s crown as a tourism destination and has experienced unprecedented interest and demand. Townsville Enterprise under the guidance of a dedicated community‑led steering committee is undertaking a Tourism Masterplan for Magnetic Island. This project is about leveraging the full potential of the island from a visitor economy point of view, whilst still retaining the natural and cultural values which are so important to the fabric of the community on the island. We invite you to get involved, to have your say and to be part of the future of tourism on Magnetic Island.
