The Picnic Bay School will be 100 years old in 2013 and the Magnetic Island History and Craft Centre and Museum invite you to join them for a great weekend of centenary celebrations:
Saturday 8 June
2.00pm: Welcome and Opening Ceremony
Meet past pupils, view displays, book launch plus the unveiling of a specially commissioned sculpture to celebrate the event.
4.00pm: Fancy Dress Parade
Grown ups and kids are invited to dress up in whatever costume you prefer and join the parade from the MI History and Craft Center in Granite Street to the Picnic Bay jetty.
6.00pm: Community Dinner On The Jetty
Bring your own or purchase a take-away dinner from local eateries, and enjoy dinner on the Picnic Bay jetty. BYO tables and chairs, or picnic on the grass.
(No alcohol - local Law 51 applies.)

Sunday 9 June
9.00am- 3.00pm: 'Back To School' Sunday Celebrations
For this special occasion the normal Horseshoe Bay Markets will relcoate to the MI History and Craft Centre in Granite St, Picnic Bay. Join the fun by coming in period costume, or by wearing olden day clothes with hats, braces etc. Games, music, poetry competition and entertainment. Enjoy the leafy old Picnic Bay School grounds for a great day of family entertainment.
