You're invited to join a team of workers to help clean up the island's blocked and weed infested waterways this Sunday at 9am. The Magnetic Island Creek Rescue aims to clean up five waterways including Butler Creek (Picnic Bay), Kirk Creek (Nelly Bay), Peterson and Alma Creeks (Arcadia) and Wellbeloved Creek (Horseshoe Bay). The work will improve the quality of water in creeks that flow to the Great Barrier Reef, protect creek habitats and increase their natural resilience, and improve the overall beauty of Magnetic Island. Everyone is invited along and to participate from 9am followed by a FREE BBQ Lunch!

Meet: At the end of Kirk St, Nelly Bay.
Bring: Sturdy shoes, gloves, shovel, drinking water, hat and sunscreen.

Magnetic Island Creek Rescue is an 'Everyone's Environment' grant project funded by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection. It is community work supported by professional contractors to rescue specific creeks on the island from weed and rubbish.
