‘Lost Generations’ an exhibition by Bwgcolman Aboriginal Arts Corporation has joined the festival in the small foyer at the Nelly Bay terminal. The ‘Lost Generations’ connective art exhibition presents 12 local artists from the Palm Island community. The 32 connected panels were developed at a workshop held on Palm Island in early 2012, which focused on their experiences with the ‘Stolen Generations’.
Supported by Australia Government Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support and Department of Health and Ageing, Link-Up Queensland sponsored the workshop by providing canvases and paints to enable the community to come together and share and express their stories through art.
This art exhibition is for sale (price upon application) and for more information, please contact the Townsville Cultural Centre on 07 4772 7679.
The exhibition is open at the Nelly Bay ferry terminal daily from 8am to 5pm, as part of the Nelly Bay ferry terminal 10th Anniversary and the Magnetic Island Bay Dayz Festival 2013.
Link-Up (Qld) Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges funding support from the Australian Government Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support and the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
