Description
It's the most western part of Magnetic Island, and although the dirt road may be impassible during the wet season (Jan-March) for the rest of the year it's a great adventure along the way and a superb spot to see the sun set over the water looking towards the lights of Townsville and Palleranda. Take a line and you'll probably also catch a fish for dinner. Generally you'll find this as a quiet and relaxed escape. If you're in for some adventure, see if you can find the geocache at West Point.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Driving: When you get to West Point, please stay on the firm sand rather than trying your luck and getting bogged on the soft sand!
2. Cycling/Walking: If you're walking or cycling to West Point take PLENTY of drinking water with you as there is none available once you leave Picnic Bay.
