

HAVE YOUR SAY! The Queensland Government has prepared and released the Draft oort overlay for the priority Port of Townsville for public consultation.
As part of the public consultation on the draft port overlay, you are invited to attend a public information session, where you will be able to
speak with a Department of Transport and Main Roads representative about the draft Port overlay.
Master planning for the designated priority ports of Townsville, Gladstone, Hay Point/Mackay, and Abbot Point is a requirement of theSustainable Ports Development Act 2015 (Ports Act) and the Reef 2050 Long-Term Sustainability Plan.
Under the Ports Act, master plans and port overlays guide long-term sustainable development of the port , balancing long-term economic
growth, job creation, environmental values, and community interests, while providing protection for the Great Barrier Reef. The Master plan
for the priority Port of Townsville was released on 4 November 2019.
The draft port overlay, maps, and fact sheets will be on display at the information sessions and can be viewed at:
