You're invited to join the public presentation summarising the outcomes of the Magnetic Island World Heritage Values project so far. MINCA are seeking feedback from the broader community, and this is an opportunity to learn more about our Island's natural values, and what we as a community can do to ensure they are protected for future generations.
This project was given the highest priority by the Community Action Plan workshops in 2021, and MINCA took it on with funding from the Reef Trust and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
From 9am MINCA President Gethin Morgnan will give an outline of the Island's natural values followed by feedback and discussion. The group are particularly interested in learning about values important to you that they may have missed.
From 10.30am Peter Hansen will give a presentation on threats to these values, and what can be done to reduce them. This will be followed by a brief discussion about possible community responses and actions.
Date: Saturday 6th May
Time: 9am to 12 noon
At: Arcadia Bowls Club
All welcome!
