There's nothing like sitting in the outdoors watching the movies under the stars. On Saturday 28 October the Magnetic Island Men's Shed presents "Viceroy's House.”
Starts: 7pm
At: Horseshoe Bay Recreation Club, on the outdoor screen.
Cost: $5 adult, $2 kids, $12 for a family (2 adults + kids).
• BYO chairs (some will be available, please bring some if you can.)
• BBQ available from 5.30pm. Meals $2.50 and $5 Soft drinks available.
Viceroy's House (NR)
New nations are rarely born in peace... India, 1947: Lord Mountbatten (Hugh Bonneville) is dispatched, along with his wife Edwina (Gillian Anderson), to New Delhi to oversee the country's transition from British rule to independence. Taking his place in the resplendent mansion known as the Viceroy's House, Mountbatten arrives hopeful for a peaceful transference of power. But ending centuries of colonial rule in a country divided by deep religious and cultural differences proves no easy undertaking, setting off a seismic struggle that threatens to tear India apart. With sumptuous period detail, director Gurinder Chadha brings to life a pivotal historical moment that re-shaped the world.
Regular movie nights are held on the last Saturday of each month, except in the wet season.
