The origins of the Community Development Association are in the 1970's and although the Association has changed names from time to time, it has an unbroken 40 year record of community activity.

MICDA Working Groups

The association works with a small executive, and then with working groups. The heads of the working groups then form part of the management committee.

Current working groups and contacts are:

• Horseshe Bay Markets are held every Sunday on the Horseshoe Bay foreshore in the dry season. The markets are not held in the wet season from late January to early March. Libby and Tania work tirelessly to establish appropriate actions relating to Magnetic Island's heritage and infrastructure.
